London-Based Designer FEBEN Reveals Fall/Winter 2023 Collection At London Fashion Week

Immediately following her Central Saint Martins debut, Beyoncé hired FEBEN to work with her, and she is now a significant draw during this year’s London Fashion Week, with the designer recently discussing the difficulties of scaling her company and how she fosters a sense of community with Vogue Business.

FEBEN was one of the enticing brands that appeared in London Fashion Week 2023, with one of this season’s hottest tickets at this year’s London Fashion Week. However, she didn’t grow up fantasising about a career in the fashion business.

“I just customised things because I couldn’t really afford fashion”, according to Feben, “I guess that’s why I love textures so much now, because you can make something really special from something that’s quite plain.”

Feben is a member of a group of up-and-coming designers whose diverse perspectives and experiences are reshaping the London fashion scene. She moved quickly. Beyoncé asked her to design and style costumes for the music video for her song “Brown Skin Girl,” which celebrates dark-skinned Black women in particular, shortly after her 2020 Central Saint Martins MA womenswear graduate collection, titled ‘It’s Not Right’.

The collection the artist prepared for London Fashion Week 2023, which explores the idea of physical and emotional armour through potent fabric manipulations that toe a fine line, puts FEBEN in a new light and solidifies her position as a rising designer.

While shimmering gowns revealed natural figures adorned with shackles inspired by battle, textured crocodile prints wrapped leather coats paired with fur vests and cosy puffer scarves.

Skintight dresses with the Greek goddess Psyche printed with Salvador Dali‘s Gradiva painting and fringed dresses with a cosy vibe from a partnership with Accra-based artisans completed the collection.

Finally, models walked in FEBEN’s unique footwear designs, which included combat-inspired studded heels and furry mules.

Let’s have a closer look at the FEBEN Fall/Winter 2023 Collection!
