Lupita Nyong’o And Ava DuVernay Rumoured To Be Teaming Up For ‘Intelligent Life’ | Film News

It has been rumoured that Selma director Ava DuVernay is in talks for the direction of two Sci-Fi movies. One being an adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time, and the other, Intelligent Life.

The latter, Intelligent Life, has been written by Jurassic World collaborators Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, and THR earlier revealed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Lupita Nyong’o is in negotiations for the lead role.

The story centers on a man working in the U.N. department created to represent humankind should alien life make contact. Said man falls in love with a woman who, as it turns out, is an alien.

We’re begging for this glorious partnership of the hugely talented pair, with DuVernay spreading her wings across many genres – with directing credits from the likes of Selma and TV series Queen Sugar (due to air later this year), and extensive publicity work for a variety of big name movies.

In addition to this, Nyong’o has proved her talents time and time again with her variety of roles from her rise to stardom merely two years ago with 12 Years A Slave, moving forward into motion capture for JJ Abrams‘ Star Wars sequel and Jon Favreau‘s The Jungle Book, and now onto new Disney release Queen of Katwe, where Lupita is to play the title characters’ mother.

At this moment in time, DuVernay as not responded to either project – yet THR have reported that the schedules for both Intelligent Life and A Wrinkle In Time do not co-inside, so we may see Ava do both. Fingers Crossed!
