Marion Cotillard To Co-Star With Michael Fassbender In ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie | Film News

Despite being pushed to a release next year, the Assassin’s Creed movie is making its merry way into production with the casting of French beauty, Marion Cotillard. With Michael Fassbender starring and producing the game adaptation, the pair will reunite on set after working together on the up and coming Macbeth movie.

While her character in Assassin’s Creed is yet to become public knowledge, her impeccable dramatic talent in films like The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, La Vie En Rose and Rust and Bone, I’ve got high hopes for her in a role within a film like this. Should the first flick prove to be a hit, it’s widely thought that whatever role she gets will be a multi-film role, ensuring the flick becomes a huge franchise.

There are a couple of rumours floating around about the general synopsis of the film, with some thinking the movie will be set during The Spanish Inquisition, while a more common rumour sees the film being based on the first game in the series which focused on the character of Altair during the Third Crusade in the 12th century. The rumours however, do not include details of whether Fassbender will play the contemporary character Miles sent back in time or otherwise. Set to be directed by Justin Kurzel, Assassin’s Creed has an expected release date of December 21, 2016. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon!
