Marvel Confirms ‘Creed’ Director Ryan Coogler For ‘Black Panther’ | Film News



After months of speculation Marvel boss Kevin Feige has finally confirmed that Ryan Coogler will direct Marvel’s Black Panther film. Feige said:


We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family. The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct Black Panther. Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we’ve found the perfect director to bring T’Challa’s story to life.


Coogler directed the excellent Fruitvale Station and his latest film Creed can be seen in UK cinemas from January 15 2016. Black Panther will arrive February 2018 and the character will first be seen, played by Chadwick Boseman in Captain America: Civil War due April 29 2016.
