May The Muse Releases New Single ‘Awake’ | Music News

Berlin-based singer and songwriter May The Muse has just unveiled her new single “Awake”, which is lifted from her forthcoming solo EP, as part of her COLORS show via Berlin music platform COLORSXSTUDIOS.

The aesthetic music platform COLORSXSTUDIOS aims to spotlight the artist thanks to a clear and minimalistic stage in order to offer them the opportunity to present their music without distraction.

Driven by a spirited beat sprinkled with percussive offshoots and delicate piano chord progressions “Awake” is about the feeling to miss someone that you love and that you need close to you. It refers to the loneliness and powerlessness that affect you when someone comes out of your life as May The Muse confess in her song with her utterly captivating vocals, “I need your love, I’m not strong enough, Alone, alone”.

May The Muse’s new COLORSXSTUDIOS session follows the release of her debut single “Islands and Waves” in November 2020, which provided a fascinating introduction to the Berlin based artist and her impressive vocal talent.

Thanks to “Islands And Waves”, she caught the attention of tastemakers around the world, leading to a booking at this month’s Eurosonic Festival in Netherlands and spins on KCRW’s influential ‘Morning Becomes Eclectic’ show in America, as well as the opportunity to record this newly unveiled COLORSXSTUDIOS session.

The release of May’s highly anticipated debut EP When Mercury Fades is set for release on Friday, January 29, and will feature four compelling tracks that showcase May’s incredible vocal talent and songwriting ability. May explains “The entire EP is inspired by nature vs. nurture,” she says “It’s me figuring out how I fit into my surroundings…”
