Last month, producer Alchemist kicked off his Craft Singles series with the original version of ScHoolboy Q’s “Hoover Street”. Now, after doing “Any Means” with MC Eiht and Spice 1 last week, he is back with another collaboration featuring that very West Coast duo, with “Supply”. It is available on limited edition 45″ vinyl.
The sample heavy track is stark and jazzy, with some understated funk. It is soothing in a weird sort of way, very sleepy. Both rappers are very matter of fact, stated the life they lead and the life they still lead. You could suppose the word ‘supply’ is in the drug dealing context. Closing the track are sounds like the slowing of a vinyl and stylus on a turntable.
