An unorthodox collaboration of musicians has debuted in the form of vegan, straightedge hardcore band, Sect. The group consists of Cursed’s Chris Colohan on vocals, Catharsis’ James Chang on guitar, Earth Crisis’ Scott Crouse and Ian Edwards on guitar and bass respectively, and most high profile of all Fall Out Boy’s Andrew Hurley behind drums.
Hurley’s inclusion sees him return to the hardcore genre that he departed to find success with the pop punk outfit, and from the few tracks released by the new band it is clear to hear he hasn’t lost any of the aggression necessary for the cathartic sound.
Sect will self release their debut album Friday, August 5, with three tracks available to stream right now. Listen to them below:
