Alejandro “Jano” Fuenteswas a contestant on the first season of “La Voz”. He died after being shot in Brighton Park neighbourhood in Chicago.

Fuentes was in his car when a gunman approached, telling Fuentes to get out of the car whilst showing a gun. When Fuentes didn’t leave his car, the gunman shot him several times. Fuentes was shot in the head and died Saturday afternoon at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Fuentes opened his own performing arts studio after competing on “The Voice” in 2011. A place where young people learned singing, dancing, acting, and modeling. The studio is located on the same block where he was shot; it was also reportedly where he lived.
