Last month we reported that Ridley Scott was fast tracking Prometheus 2 following the release of his current sci-fi blockbuster, The Martian. Now, during an interview with Deadline, the British director has announced that Michael Fassbender will be returning for the sequel, along with further details on his production schedule.
When questioned about his relationship with the Irish actor, Scott commented: “Fassbender will do this one (Prometheus 2) with me, and it’s meant to start production in February. I’m in prep, now. I’ll either shoot in Aussie, or here”.
The original film closed with Elizabeth (Noomi Rapace) and android David (Fassbender) leaving the alien outpost to find the Engineers homeworld; in search of the answers many expected from this first instalment. It is uncertain if the sequel will directly follow its predecessor, but with Michael Fassbender on board, it seems more than likely.
