Over the years, Esta, of the mighty Soulection crew, has churned out some of the most distinctly potent remixes that have passed through the annals of contemporary music. He has flipped chart-topper after chart-topper, often making them better in many respects. He has perhaps done it, again, sending up a remix of Miguel‘s 2012 breakout ballad, “Adorn”.
The vocals sound filtered, like down a phone line, or something. Clapping drums and intermittent chords give it a real rhythm. It, overall, is really laidback and a touch jazzy. Sleepy, even. A middle section refrain strips it back, so the listener can let it wash over them and soak up the soundscape. The fadeout evokes summer vibes.
