Milton Keynes’ The Point Multiplex Cinema Shows Last Ever Movie | Film News
One of the UK’s first multiplex cinemas, built nearly 30 years ago in Milton Keynes, has shown its last film before demolition for a shopping and leisure outlet scheme. The Point, a pyramid shaped building, is a distinctive landmark in the town. Last Thursday, it featured Kingsman: The Secret Service, as its last movie. The Point, opened on the 3rd of November, 1985, but less than a year before its 30th birthday, the IMAX Odeon cinema at Stadium MK has replaced it as the city’s main cinema venue. Several attempts had been made to retain part of the building, but the Milton Keynes Council had already granted permission for it to be demolished.
