As the international LGBT pride month comes to a close, there are still plenty of celebrations happening all over the world. One of these just happens to be any music produced by the singer known professionally as MNEK. After establishing himself as a black gay man in the music industry, he has been gaining a considerable fanbase this year.
His initial popularity, coupled with his recent releases, has generated a rather impressive amount of fame for such a marginalised artist, in a rather short time.
MNEK brought in the year with his single “Tongue”, and quickly followed it up this month with “Colour”. This new song features Hailee Steinfield – the singer most famous for her track with Alesso, “Let Me Go” – and continues to be hailed as an anthem for the LGBT community.
This week, the music video for “Colour” was premiered in all its glory. It features MNEK and Steinfield with a group of dancers, and paints the scene in “colour”.
