Molly Hammar – Shortcuts (I Can’t Wait) | New Music

Rising R&B songstress Molly Hammar has unveiled her new single “Shortcuts (I Can’t Wait)”. The track, which follows her recent sultry banger “Words”, is about turning your dreams into reality.

Molly Hammar, a 22-year-old Swedish singer, grew up in an artistic household with both her parents being jazz musicians. Molly’s songs seamlessly combine deep irresistible beats with sensual compelling vocals. In her honest, uncompromising lyrics, the singer promotes female empowerment and body positivity.

Having dropped her debut EP Sex last year, Molly has been penning hits for herself and other artists, including “Easy”, her collaboration with Sick Individuals and “Holding On”, a dancefloor-filler from Sondr.

The new offering from Molly Hammar is the latest from the string of successful singles released by her this year. She recently shared ‘No Place Like Me’ recorded with Big Narstie, and her summer jam ‘Show Me’ featuring Kim Cesarion. “Shortcuts (I Can’t Wait)” previews Molly’s forthcoming EP and was inspired by the idea of chasing your ambitions.

“I’m so tired of not being a superstar”, the singer admits. “I said that to my songwriters, and that’s how ‘Shortcuts’ was born. “Shortcuts” is about all the shortcuts you can take towards fulfilling your dreams and the struggle I think everyone faces when you have big dreams and want to achieve them.

All the pressure that comes with it, the frustration, the longing. I’ve learned that taking the long road always pays off in the end, if you want something that’s gonna last. Both career wise and in life. It’s a frustration anthem in the most beautiful way”.
