Mup The Edens Share Their New Single ‘Rhythm Of The City’

The secretive band Mup The Edens have shared with us, their vibrant new single titled “Rhythm of the City“.

Mup The Edens have a unique band formation, one of the two musicians is from Seattle, while the second one is from Nashville.

If you are curious about the name of the band, Mup The Edens used to be one of two of a rock band touring around. When they had free time, they took the opportunity to pay a visit to their grandfather in Chicago, the old man would ask “Mup the Edens?”, which is a contraction of the question “Did you come up the Edens Expressway to get here?”.

Since nobody else took this name before, they decided to keep this inside joke question as the name of their new project.

The band uses a pretty large range of instrumentation in their music, from sitar on the Bollywood-inspired “Man Mandir”, to woodwinds on the Latin-infused “¡Dígame!”. That large range of instrumentation can also be witnessed in their use of theremin on their jazz version of the holiday classic “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”.

Occasionally, Mup The Edens will bring one or two of their friends to feature on their songs, otherwise it’s just the two musicians you can expect to hear. They also don’t use any samples, and are also hoping that other artists instead will sample their music. Shyness is one of their personal characters, which is why they are using a picture of their cute dog as representation of themselves.

Their brand new track “Rhythm Of The City”, which features their newest vocalist, is a mix of rock and roll and jazz-forward foray into soul music, which push you into a daily walk through your city at night.
