Netflix Buys Dan Gilroy Untitled Drama Starring Jake Gyllenhaal | Film News

Netflix has bought the movie rights to a currently untitled drama written and directed by Dan Gilroy. Little is known about the film, though it has been revealed, rather vaguely, that the film will take place in the art world.

The film will star Jake Gyllenhaal alongside Gilroy’s wife, Rene Russo. The pair had worked with Gilroy, prior, on Nightcrawler (2014), a thriller that sees Lou Bloom (Gyllenhaal) emerge himself in the L.A. crime scene as an unethical stringer who sells his footage to a local news reporter (Russo). The film was praised and earned Gilroy a Best Original Screenplay nod, so the trio’s reunion signifies an exciting project.

Dan Gilroy‘s other credits include writing the screenplays for The Bourne Legacy (2011) and Kong: Skull Island (2017).

Jake Gyllenhaal can next be seen supported by Tatiana Maslany in Stronger, an intense drama detailing the journey of Boston bombing victim Jeff Bauman.
