Netflix Officially Cancels Marvel Shows ‘Jessica Jones’ And ‘The Punisher’ | TV News

Netflix has cancelled The Punisher after two seasons. Frank Castle’s Marvel companion, Jessica Jones, will also take her final bow on Netflix after the curtain call of Jessica Jones‘ third season.

With Netflix having abruptly ended its other series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil, it seemed inevitable that the other series would eventually follow suit. Today, Netflix put the final nail in The Punisher’s coffin, despite the success of its second season. It will also call time on Jessica Jones after the final season has aired.

Netflix cancelled Luke Cage in June 2018, and cancelled Iron Fist in October. Daredevil, the most successful MCU Netflix series, ended after its third season, also in October 2018.

In a statement to Deadline, Netflix shared the sentiment:

We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning.”

The future of these shows is uncertain, we just hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of these characters!
