Netflix Releases Trailer For Notorious B.I.G. Documentary ‘I Got A Story To Tell’ | Film Trailer

After a whole four years in the making, Netflix has released the trailer for Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell, the first approved documentary about the 90’s rap legend Notorious B.I.G.. Fans have already noted that the title of the film derives from the Life After Death track, which was released a few weeks after Biggie’s tragic death in 1997.

As a mater of fact, the film was first announced back in 2017, at that time it was titled One More Chance, but was only recently finally completed. “This film lived up to all those stereotypes, taking us four years to develop and make it”, director Emmett Malloy said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

He added that, “Through those years we were immersed in Brooklyn in the 70s through the 90s. It is easy to see how much Brooklyn has changed since Christopher Wallace was a kid, but it’s also clear that many things about being a young black man in this country have not changed”.

Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace and Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs are the documentary’s executive producers and both provide exclusive interviews for the film. Notorious B.I.G’s former manager and current estate manager Wayne Barrow is also one of the producers.

According to Barrow, Voletta Wallace and him initially had thoughts on creating the story told from the perspective of Christopher’s fans and how they got inspires by him and his music.

The documentary will shed light on the artist’s childhood, his journey to fame as well as the problems he faced with his family after becoming famous. The story of Notorious B.I.G. has been told multiple times, but this time is special: Netflix tries to step into the mind of the rapper, the influences in his life as a young man with his ability to awaken emotion with his stunning wordplay and authentic flow.

The long-awaited documentary I Got A Story To Tell premieres on Netflix on March 1. We are sure that this documentary will be a great tribute to Christopher Wallace’s memory and the impact he made at such a young age! Watch the trailer below:
