New ‘Gambit’ Movie To Be Written By Robocop’s Josh Zetumer | Film News
Another day, another movie confirmation! This time around, 20th Century Fox have confirmed they’re moving ahead with a Gambit movie with blockbuster hunk Channing Tatum, set to play the card-wielding mutant. There’s been a few changes in who will pen the script for the anticipated movie, as it was Marvel Comics writer, Chris Claremont, who wrote the treatment. However, it seems now that FOX has locked in Robocop writer, Josh Zetumer to pen the entire screenplay.
With just one feature under his belt, Zetumer is an interesting choice for such a highly popular character movie but it seems Fox has every confidence in his abilities, even if Robocop was met with mixed reviews. Hardcore mutant fans were a little confused as to why Tatum was picked to play Gambit but with his up and coming movie, Foxcatcher, looking to make the awards circuit next year, perhaps we’ll be seeing a more serious Channing. Either way, it will be interesting to see how popular the Magic Mike star will be in his first superhero role!
