New Jersey Rap Artist Trust Tate Releases New Single ‘FaceTime’ | Music News

New Jersey rapper Trust Tate has risen from SoundCloud, a platform for independent artists, and has been making a buzz within his loyal community after releasing 150 exclusive songs, remixes, and demos. Now he has a full summer project on the way and his first single to be released on all streaming platforms is “FaceTime”.

The artist backstory is about overcoming difficulties that life throws at us, his life is literally a miracle because he was shot twice by stray gunfire when he was only a 7-month old baby and should not even be alive today. Thankfully he is and has been living his life with house money as they say.

Speaking about his early start in music, Trust Tate says, “I started out as a writer of poetry when I was 10 years old, posting poems on Facebook, and sharing them with my peers. I made my 1st song in 2009 with some friends and uploaded it to myspace…I was signed to an independent record label… I realized that I wanted to do more for my own career, including Music Production, and Audio Engineering”.

At the same interview, he also tells us the artists that have influenced him in his trajectory, including Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Future, Jay-z, J.Cole,  Dababy, Lil Baby, Gunna, Young Thug, Chance The Rapper, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, A$AP ROCKY, SchoolboyQ, Danny Brown and Ab-Soul, while describing his music as “hip-hop, RnB with rock and jazz garnishments in my vocals and instrumentation“.

Speaking about his newest single inspiration, Trust Tate says “my music is like voice recording a therapy session and putting a beat over it, and ‘Facetime’ is another of those therapy sessions with me venting about my love and hate relationship with attention-seeking people and time-wasters, Facetime just happened to be the platform bearing the brunt of all my frustrations”.
