New ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer Released | Film Trailer

X-Men Apocalypse

As anticipation mounts for the third installment of the rebooted X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse, 20th Century Fox have released a new trailer which gives us a closer look at where our beloved heroes are, the talented Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse and the destruction he intends to unleash upon the Earth.

Set in 1983, we find our heroes in very different scenarios from the ones we last saw them in Days of Future Past: Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) has set up his school for gifted youngsters; Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) is on a mysterious mission of her own; and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) has given up a life of global terrorism in order to settle down. Good for him.

This all changes when Apocalypse awakes from his long slumber to discover the world is not as he intended. He therefore sets out to cull it and usher in a new world where humans are subservient to him. (Personally, I think he was just horrified with the 80’s, and who can blame him?)

The X-Men we’ve come to know since First Class must now come together to fight for their very existence against a mutant with the power to end them all and his 4 ‘Horsemen’: Storm (Alexandra Shipp); Angel (Ben Hardy); Psylocke (Olivia Munn); and Magneto.

The ranks of the X-Men shall be bolstered by classic fan-favourites like Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Havok (Lucas Till) and Jubilee (Lana Condor). Manchester United had their Class of ’92; X-Men have their Class of ’83.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits U.K. cinemas May 18 and you can watch the new trailer below.
