Nick Carter Granted Temporary Restraining Order Against Brother Aaron | Music News

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter has been granted a temporary restraining order against his younger brother Aaron after alleging that Aaron threatened to kill Nick’s pregnant wife, Lauren.

The 39-year-old said the decision was made “in light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behaviour”.

In a statement posted to Twitter, Nick wrote that he and his sister Angel had taken out the restraining order which means 31-year-old Aaron must stay at least 100 feet (30 metres) away from Nick, his family and their Las Vegas home.

“After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron”, Carter said on Tuesday.

“In light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behaviour and his recent confessions that he harbours thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family”, he continued.

“We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else”.

Aaron Carter also took to Twitter to respond to his brother, saying he was “astounded” by the allegations.

“I never threatened anyone. I’m appalled by this and don’t ever wish to speak to them again … All I ask is for my family to leave me alone”, he wrote.

He told TMZ: “I am astounded at the accusations being made against me and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family”.

Carter also claimed that he had not seen his brother Nick in four years.

Aaron Carter rose to fame in 1997 when he was 9 years old, scoring two UK Top 10 hits with songs from his self-titled debut album.

He released four more albums and appeared on several reality TV shows, including Dancing With the Stars, before entering a rehab facility in September 2017.

Carter recently appeared on US show The Doctors where it was revealed that he suffers from multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression.

Nick Carter achieved success as a member of the Backstreet Boys, who have sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Their ninth album DNA was released in January this year and reached number one in the US charts.

A hearing for a permanent restraining order has been set for October 16.
