Nigerian Afrofusion Artist Ivory Blue Opens The Year With ‘Abena’

Introducing Nigerian-born Afrofusion singer, rapper and songwriter Ivory Blue with his first single of 2022 titled “Abena“, which is produced by Pr3mium and engineered by Flowzy.

The track is a melting pot of different afrobeats sounds that come together to get the listener into the mood of love and dance. According to Ivory Blue, the song is “a musical vibe designed to cater to every afrobeats and pop lover“. Very high goals set there by Ivory for his music, so let us what you think about if they have achieved this for you.

The track itself is a catchy afrobeats track with lush synths and horn arrangements, as well as a strong melodious vocal delivery from Ivory Blue. Lyrically, as you might expect, the track is about a woman called “Abena” presumably, and it sees Ivory Blue waxing about running away with her. If you’re looking for strong lyrical content, hopefully you still stay for the catchy singing and production.

Ivory Blue burst onto the scene in 2019 with the single “Slowdown”, which was featured on Ndani TV series Phases, and later on with “Don’t Judge Me” featuring Young Paris the following year. Between “Slowdown” and “Don’t Judget Me” and over ten released singles along the way, Ivory Blue is surely gearing up for a full-length project later this year.
