Nipsey Hussle and YG recently unified seemingly all L.A. neighbourhoods against Donald Trump. This was much to the ire of the L.A.P.D, apparently. Since then, Nipsey has dropped a steady stream of SoundCloud tracks, the latest of which is the Young Thug and Mozzy-assisted “I Do This”.
The song marks the second time that Young Thug and Nipsey have collaborated. Sinister Pook delivers the spoken word intro to the track. The following backdrop is calm and soothing, with busy, yet melancholy bass. This in itself is a prelude to pounding drums and an autotune hook, with the rapped verses sombre and from the heart.
