They have been loved and loathed by the music industry in equal measure, but One Direction are finally set to part ways after a five year run that has seen them break records and earn millions of pounds. They have revealed to the Sun’s Dan Wootton that they will take at least a year’s break to work on their own solo projects. Their possible final hoorah sees them end a troublesome year by releasing a their fifth studio album in November with no promotional tour. Whether they get back together or not, they will always be known as one of the most successful boy bands ever created.
