Otzeki – Falling Out | Music Video

Otzeki are made up of two cousins, who combine brooding electronics with a distorted pop sensibilities. The pair’s new EP, Falling Out, arrives on Friday, May 27, via Discophorus.

The title cut begins with earnest, clean guitar and spaced out vocals, perhaps with a touch of reverb. Then comes in the clapping drum machine, sounding like the tap dancing feet of a crowd of people. Another layer of guitar develops the melody, later followed by another vocal arrangement.

The video’s opening credits say, “Thank you Ziggy for bringing freedom and happiness onto the streets of New Cross”. You assume from the video that Ziggy is the protagonist of the video, a video more or less only showing him for its entirety. He dances about, forever smiling and probably worthy of the aforementioned dedication to him.

Catch Ozteki supporting Lust For Youth at Hackney’s Moth Club venue on Friday, April 22; and the Off The Cuff venue in Herne Hill on Thursday, May 26.
