‘Parasite’ Actor Lee Sun-Kyun To Star In Apple TV Series ‘Dr. Brain’ | TV News

 

Apple TV+ is experimenting with Korean-language originals and announced a series based on a popular webtoon. Entitled Dr.Brain, the series is the first Korean project of the platform.

 

The live action sci-fi thriller is currently in the production process in South Korea. Written and directed by Kim Jee-Woon, who gave the world such ultraviolent genre masterpieces as A Tale Of Two Sisters and I Saw The Devil, the film will star Lee Sun-kyun the actor from Oscar-winning movie Parasite.

 

Lee Sun-kyun will play a brain scientist determined to figure out how to access our brain’s core secrets and consciousness using brand new technologies with the ultimate  goal of finding the truth behind a terrible tragedy that happened to scientist’s tragedy. He manages to access memories from his wife’s brain to piece together the mystery of what actually happened to his family.

 

Dr. Brain will be produced by Samuel Yeunju Ha, Ham Jung Yeub and Daniel Han (Studioplex), Joy Jinsoo Lee and Min Young Hong (Kakao Entertainment) as well as the film’s director Kim Jee-Woon.

 

The sci-fi series is the latest Apple international language original following orders for Soo Hugh’s Pachinko and Eugenio Derbez’s Acapulco.

 

We are glad to see the internationalization in the film industry! The film is set to debut later this year so let’s wait for the release!
