Pedro Pascal Joins Denzel Washington’s ‘Equalizer 2’ | Film News

Antoine Fuqua‘s The Equalizer 2 has cast its villain in Pedro Pascal. The Game of Thrones and Narcos actor will star opposite Denzel Washington in the sequel to the 2014 crime thriller.

Details on both Pascal’s role and the plot to the film have been kept rather under wraps. All that is known is Washington reprises his role as Robert McCall, a retired special ops agent who finds himself now helping those in desperate need. Pascal will likely lead another gang that causes trouble.

The original film was based on a 1970s TV series of the same name, which saw a Home Depot-style worker having his new quiet life disturbed by his secret past and need to defend the helpless. The Equalizer 2 marks Washington’s first reprisal of a character, so the film must have some promise. Considering Fuqua departed the Scarface reboot to focus on it, I’d say that’s the case.

The film is set for a world premiere on September 14, 2018. Pedro Pascal can next be seen in Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle which opens next month.
