Popular TikTok Creator Sam Ryder To Represent UK At Eurovision 2022

The famous TikTok creator Sam Ryder has been designated as the UK representative for the 2022 Eurovision contest.

Born in Essex, Sam Ryder has gathered a huge community of 12 million followers thanks to covers of popular song by the likes of Adele, Alicia Keys, and Justin Bieber on the social media platform TikTok.

While trying to find an occupation during the first lockdown in March 2020, Sam covered Adele’s “Easy On Me” and reached 28 million views. At the end of the same year, he was also reward as the TikTok’s most popular artist.

Furthermore, he caught the attention of Alicia Keys with a cover of her tittle “If I Ain’t Got You” and gained more fan with that. In 2021, Sam signed with record label Parlophone and finally started to release his own music.

The artist will perform his own track “Space Man“, which is currently being supported on BBC Radio 1. Sam described the song like, “a little song about being an astronaut”.

Speaking about performing at Eurovision, Sam says, “Having been a fan of Eurovision since I was a kid l I am so honored to have been presented with the opportunity to sing at an event alongside some of Europe’s most talented creatives, performers and songwriters”.

Eurovision 2022 will take place in Turin in Italy, after the country won the 2021 contest with the song “Zitti e buoni” by Måneskin.
