Post Malone Performs Country Covers At Matthew McConaughey Fundraiser | Music News

Post Malone recenlty performed two classic country covers for Texan actor Matthew McConaughey’s We’re Texas: Giddy Up To Give Back virtual benefit concert. The livestream was hosted on March 21 as a fundraiser for Texans in response to the devastating winter storm Uri.

Post Malone closed out the stream with a performance that included a cover of “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song)” by Brad Paisley with Dwight Yoakam’s band and Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have The Crown”.

“Hey guys, it’s Posty,”, the nine-time Grammy-nominated musician said. “We’ve got a couple great musicians and we’re just here to play some of my favorite country-esque tunes”.

The singer surprised most of his fans demonstrating that he can break from his normal pop repertoire and blend his influences into genres similar to rock and country music.

The livestream hosted by Matthew McConaughey also featured performances from country superstars such as Willie Nelson, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert as well as Kacey Musgraves, Khalid, Gary Clark Jr and Lukas Nelson.

Jame Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Selena Gomez, Megan Thee Stallion Woody Harrelson, the Jonas Brothers and Renee Zellweger also made appearances throughout the virtual event.
