Legendary singer, songwriter and musician Prince surprised fans with a performance of his greatest hits last night (February 2) in London’s Koko. The private show was held in aid of the charity Autism Rocks and gathered a audience of some big names including Noel Gallagher and Zane Lowe. Prince’s set began at 10pm and was supported by his backing band 3RDEYEGIRL, kick starting the set with the famed “Purple Rain”. Following this, was a more than two hour show, including all of his greatest hits and a cover of Paloma Faith’s “Only Love Can Hurt Like This”.

He told the crowd, “we’ll play fourteen hits in a row, then if you’re still standing we’ll play some more“, those hits included “Kiss”, “Controversy”, “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “1999”. Prince then, in addition to his greatest hits, played some new music from his and 3RDEYEGIRL’s recent album including “Plectrumelectrum” and “The Breakdown”.
