Since her eponymous debut, Rachel Foxx continues to tease her upcoming EP, Gold, which comes out Sunday, April 17. Another preview, entitled “Give To Receive”, is now available for listening. It has Odd Child’s Jason Julian and Nosa Apollo on production duties.

Foxx says, “‘Give To Receive’ is about knowing yourself and knowing time is precious and worth something. It’s about being sceptical to let someone into your life”.

The track is s slow, brooding one. The drums are far removed from the rattle typically associated with a lot in this genre, particularly Southern rap of these days. The middle section is soaring synthesiser, something one might associate with oldschool West Coast rap. Muted guitar fades out the track.
