Actress and singer Raven-Symoné releases first new music in 8 years. Symoné has not released any music since her Disney days as part of girl group The Cheetah Girls and as a solo artist, with the self-titled debut album being released in 2008.
Symoné is probably currently more famously known for TV work from her career launching hit show That’s So Raven and her work as a presenter on the American show The View and her appearance on Empire.
She premiered two new songs on her Soundcloud account. Her first song, “Cruise Control” is a mellow sultry R&B track that resembles the same vibe as a Keyshia Cole song. Raven describes the song as “a soft melodic transparent story of sex and speed filled with ambient sounds and undertones of sexual frustration”.
Her second song “Sarafina” shows a more mature and experimental side to Raven’s once clean pop sound. She describes it as “eerie sounds of melodic, fantasy vocals describing a world that can only be named Sarafina…”
Both tracks are available to stream on her Soundcloud account.
