Currently on display at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts is a fan letter, but not just any fan letter. It is addressed to Afeni Shakur, mother of the late Tupac, and it contains a fan drawing of Tupac and a hand written letter expressing admiration for the rapper. It was written by rap superstar, Eminem. In the letter he writes to Afeni, stating that, “you have no idea how much your son and his music has inspired not only the hip hip world but, speaking for myself, has inspired my whole career“. He ends the letter with the surprisingly touching footnote, “thank you for giving us his spirit and yours. God bless you! Love Marshall“.
