Late last year, Chase & Status, Shy FX and David Rodigan took to the stage as Rebel Sound for the Red Bull Culture Clash 2014, and they infected the crowd with some deep UK jungle sounds that led to them being crowned the champions. The supergroup aren’t resting on their laurels though, they’re back just in time for the UK summer to add their heat to the season, promising to drop three exclusive tracks over the next few months.
First offering “Dub 1” features Ms. Dynamite and Ninjaman, the former having flown the flag for UK jungle for the last decade now, and she warns that “Chase & Status make dem boy run” and “Shy FX ah kill dem for fun“. They mean business. Ninjaman then takes over and fittingly accompanies the now-driving jungle rhythm with frenzied hoots of “muder dem!“, raising the mercury in the thermometer to a dangerous level. There’s still two tracks yet to be unveiled, remember that before you lose yourself to this madness.
