Run-DMC To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At 2016 Grammys | Music News
The Hip Hop legends Run-DMC have been selected to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards next month. Regardless of the fact the Queens rap trio never actually won a Grammy in their 80s heyday, the organisation claim this is a different honour altogether.
The award honours “performers who have made contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording“. Furthermore, President and CEO of the Recording Academy, Neil Portnow, said in a statement in regard to Run-DMC, “their exceptional accomplishments, contributions, and artistry will continue to influence and inspire generations to come“. The Grammy Awards will take place on February 15.
