Saint Laurent Unveils Jim Jarmusch Short Film ‘French Water’ | Fashion News

Famous French luxury house Yves Saint Laurent has chosen to present part of its women’s Spring-Summer 2021 collection in a very original way with an experimental short film.

Indeed, the luxury house has associated with the American director Jim Jarmusch for this creation entitled French Water. Anthony Vaccarello the creative director of Saint Laurent also collaborated on the video as artistic director.

It is a short film inspired by French cinema and presented in a science fiction film atmosphere. Julianne Moore, Chloë Sevigny, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Indya Moore and Leo Reilly star in the 9-minute project.

The story takes place after a party where a waiter Leo Reilly is left, throughout the video, the actresses appear and disappear with the looks of the Saint Laurent Spring-Summer 2021 collection in a supernatural way.

The short film has a dramatic feel to it which is enhanced by the background music by Noveller and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

French Water proves once again Saint Laurent’s desire to enter a more digital era and to unveil collections in a more original and artistic way than what can be produced on a catwalk, as the house has proven with its last two short films.

French Water follows the last short film Saint Laurent made to present its latest collection, released in December, Summer Of ’21, a dark short film directed by Gaspar Noé.
