Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Turning Sci-Fi Comedy Podcast ‘Bubble’ Into Animated Movie | Film News

Best friends and frequent collaborators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have found their latest project. They will adapt the sci-fi comedy podcast Bubble into an animated film. The project is in the works at Sony.

The podcast follows three friends who secure work hunting monsters through an Uber-esque app called Huntr. It’s similar tonally to TV shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Rick And Morty. Reportedly, the adaptation will be a “mature” adult animated feature; so imagine something similar to Rogen and Goldberg’s other animated collaboration with Sony, Sausage Party.

Bubble creator Jordan Morris will write the script for the movie. Rogen and Goldberg will produce through their Point Grey Productions banner. Podcasting network Maximum Fun and Morris are also attached as co-executive producers.

Rogen and Goldberg are no strangers to adaptations. They’ve previously helped adapt graphic novels Preacher and The Boys into TV shows, so shifting from one medium to another shouldn’t be a problem. Podcast adaptations are becoming more frequent as the medium grows in popularity. Could podcast-to-film adaptations become the norm if something like Bubble becomes a hit?
