Sharon Stone To Produce & Star In Film Adaptation Of ‘Woman On Fire’

Sharon Stone has signed on to produce and star in a film adaptation of Lisa Barr‘s upcoming novel, Woman On Fire. The book, which will be published in March, is a historical and sensual thriller that follows a young go-getter journalist who finds herself in the middle of an international coverup surrounding a piece of legendary artwork stolen by the Nazis.

She must now weigh the pros and cons surrounding the piece and if it’s worth putting her life on the line. The book seeks to ask readers the question of where the line should be drawn between the pursuit of justice and the hunt for revenge.

It sounds like a story that will fit snugly on the big screen, and there’s no better actor to lead a sensual thriller than Stone, whose long and successful film career is highlighted by her roles in Basic Instinct, Total Recall, and Casino.

Along with Woman On Fire, Barr is known for her acclaimed novels The Unbreakables and Fugitive Colors, while she’s also worked as an editor for several publications including The Jerusalem Post and the Chicago Sun-Times.

Stone recently signed on for a key role in season two of The Flight Attendant, while she’s got film roles in Andrew Dosunmu‘s Beauty and romantic drama What About Love lined up.
