Shlohmo has had another big year in 2014, carrying on from his success in 2013 where he released his Laid Out EP, one of my favourite releases on the year, Shlohmo has gone on to add his unique distorted sound in a number of production roles. Earlier In 2014, the LA based producer also dropped another 6 track EP No More in collaboration with Jeremih, and now he is ending the year with releasing details of his first tour with his own full live setup, details of which you can see here. Along with this big announcement, Shlohmo has dropped a new stand-alone single titled “Emerge From Smoke”.
“Emerge From Smoke” is a track much more in touch with music the artist created in Laid Out rather than this year’s No More. No More was more of an R&B EP, one that contained a clearer, less dramatic sound which opened it up to a bigger audience. “Emerge from Smoke” contains that dirty, lo-fi distortion that is slowly pieced by fierce, energetic sounds that build in its conclusion.
