With Ryan Reynolds taking the lead role in the new Deadpool movie, production is moving alone nicely and now they’ve begun testing for female leads to star as mercenary Wade Wilson. With a script from Rhett Reese (Zombieland) and Paul Wernick (G.I Joe: Retaliation) and Tim Miller helming the project in his directorial debut, this is a movie that fans thought would never actually come to light so here, any news is good news. Take a look at the possible female leads.
Homeland actress Morena Baccarin, Orange is The New Black leading lady Taylor Schilling and Teen Wolf star Crystal Reed are all up for consideration, as are The Red Band Society‘s Rebecca Rittenhouse, Vikings actress Sarah Greene and Arrow star Jessica De Gouw.
While I’m not very versed in the world of Deadpool and I can’t say I’m overly knowledgeable of a lot of these ladies work, from research, it certainly looks like a great bunch of possibilities. Taylor Shilling certainly stands out for me as her brilliant comedic talent showcased in Orange is The New Black, is something I can really see working well with Reynolds own hilarious manner. How do you guys feel about these possible female leads? Who would you like to see in the new film? Deadpool currently has a February 12th 2016 release date and starts production next month.
