Shyland Flowers Releases New Track ‘Monalisabonet’ | Music News

American rapper Shyland Flowers has given fans the first taste of his new project called Monalisabonet. The authentic and relatable title track is sure to strike a chord with both younger and more mature listeners.

Shyland Flowers, a 25-year-old emerging rapper from South Carolina, dropped his first self-released record named Sertoma back in 2015. Three years later he followed it up with his R U Shoeless: The Carolina Theory LP, which features collaborations with the likes of Skyzoo and Loaded Lux.

Having recently opened for Kota the Friend at the Radio Room and for the Wu-Tang Clan at The Firmament, Shyland Flowers is back with a brand-new project titled Monalisabonet. On Friday (November 1), he shared the first single taken from his upcoming release.

The track uses a delightfully nostalgic production as a background for Shyland’s powerful, straightforward verses. “Monalisabonet” describes the situation of desperately trying to capture the attention of one’s love interest – a theme the rapper’s teenage audience will surely find highly relatable.

More experienced listeners, on the other hand, will certainly appreciate Shyland’s versatility and his mature approach to the subject. “I’ve made a life around nostalgic, running from nirvana….”, a line taken from the rapper’s latest offering, perfectly samples his outstanding songwriting skills.
