Who could think a meme that is seven years old could even reach the heights of Hollywood. A movie based on the on online figure Slenderman is reportedly on the way, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter. Sony division Screen Gems is set to produce the film, with the script written by David Birke.
The figure originated as part of a Photoshop contest, the character spawning a mythology and various games as well as a low-budget film in 2013, tv shows like Supernatural and Law and Order using the character as inspiration.
