Spike Lee Will Be Voting Bernie Sanders, Fearing Trump Access To ‘Nuclear Football’ | Film News
Director Spike Lee has made clear his opposition to Republic Candidate Donald Trump, speaking at the Berlin Film Festival, revealing his fears over the frontrunners access to the country’s nuclear arsenal.
Promoting his new film, Chi-Raq – a satirical part-musical based on Aristophanes’ Lysistrata – titled after the colloquial term used by Chicago rappers to describe the cities sky high murder rate – Lee voiced his support for liberal Bernie Sanders, saying:
“I always thought it was a myth. It scared the shit out of me”, Lee said. “Can you imagine Donald Trump having that power? Press some numbers into that and we’re all out of here. You’re fired … for real!”
