Stella McCartney Stages Horse Show At 2023 Paris Fashion Week

At Manege Ecole Militaire, France’s oldest riding school, Stella McCartney hosted a horse show on Monday morning to reveal her 2023 Fall Ready-To-Wear Collection for her Paris Fashion Week show

Seven stunning wild horses were led by “horse whisperer” and rescuer Jean-Francois Pignon in cantering, frolicking, and rolling in the dirt while models walked by.

The designer stated that she wanted to go back to her equestrian roots and featured images of her late mother Linda and sister Mary McCartney in the collection, which focused heavily on Savile Row-style tailoring.

The ‘Horse Power’ collection combines more sporty items like tracksuits, sports coats, and baseball caps with blatantly preppy ones like polo shirts with embroidered patches on the breast.

There are horse motifs and graphics on tops and dresses, evoking one of the designer’s most iconic collections from her time at Chloé, with the equine theme extending beyond the show’s name and setting.

McCartney focused on tailoring for her runway show this season, drawing inspiration from military uniforms and equestrian uniforms.

British check and pinstripe boyfriend blazers with the season’s exaggerated shoulders and looser trousers were displayed, along with new tailored bustier dresses that have been seen everywhere despite their somewhat impractical appearance.

About her collection Stella McCartney says “Our relationship to all our fellow creatures, we wanted to make a connection because there is so much leather and fur and feathers on the runway, especially in winter, and I wanted to show you could do it in a different way and just as luxurious”

This line is intended for the horse girl or the casual dressing. It has a liberated feeling, like a horse galloping over a meadow.
