Sufjan Stevens Releases Live Video For ‘Carrie & Lowell’ | Music News
Detroit songsmith Sufjan Stevens has released a live performance of “Carrie & Lowell” through his record label’s Youtube channel. The track is taken from the 2015 album of the same name, which was a stand out critical success for Stevens, as well as one of our top 50 albums of the past year.
The video was filmed during a live set in Charleston, South Carolina, and the band do the wistful song justice, with two part harmonies and thundering bass drums complementing Sufjan’s banjo. It’s about as close to a flawless live performance you will see, one of the rare occurrences where a live set surpasses the studio version of a song.
