American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens will release his score for Justin Peck’s ballet The Decalogue on October 18. This work will be performed by Brooklyn based pianist Timo Andres, who will give his own interpretation to the songs.

Sufjan Stevens is the author of such tracks like “Love Yourself” and “With My Whole Heart” (2019); the latter, which was created for the celebration of Pride Month, represented a personal challenge to “write an upbeat and sincere love song without conflict, anxiety or self-deprecation”, Stevens said.

The Decalogue is a new challenge for the artist and represents the fifth collaboration between the choreographer Peck and Stevens, after such works like Year of the Rabbit, Everywhere We Go, The Countenance of Kings and Principia.

On the 17th of September, a 46-second trailer for the entire album and the video of the first track “III” (the number three in Roman numerals) were launched. The black and white videos, with psychedelic shapes and strings that appear and move on the screen work well in connection with the melody.

The tracklist of the album includes ten songs, all titled with Roman numerals. The new song’s video is already attracting fans’ attention with positive reviews that are being posted on Youtube every minute. On October 18th, we are sure that the album will receive positive feedback as well.
