‘Super Fly’ Gives The Classic A Modern Makeover | Film Trailer

It really seems as if 2018 will be the year of remakes and reboots; everything along the lines “Something old doesn’t have to be bad.” This time all eyes are on the blaxploitation classic Super Fly remake by Sony Pictures.

The teaser shows an updated version of the material changing the setting from New York to Atlanta. “In 1971, Harlem was the epicenter of black culture, it was really what Atlanta is today,” explains director Director X. This film also marks his debut in the film world as he has made music videos up to now.

The film follows the Youngblood Priest, a cocaine dealer who wants to get out of the scene after one last job. He is portrayed by Trevor Jackson. Also joining him are Jason Mitchell, Michael Kenneth Williams, Lex Scott Davis and Jennifer Morrison.

The film hits the theaters in June this year.
