South London native, Tanika, comes forward with the music video for song, “In You”. This is taken from her album, entitled Out Here, the latter of which sees cameo appearances from Stormzy and Wretch 32.
“In You” tinkles with moody, cyclical piano before slightly soulful vocals. There appears to be an extent of hurt or angst, really heart on sleeve kind of thing. A middle section lets the dynamics breathe, the vocals circulating before building in and resuming, again, before fading out.
The video itself appears to depict a young couple, sticking together despite all the struggles that come with life. There appears, also, to be a bit of mystery surrounding what is arguably quite a cinematic effort. The male half is seen visiting a grave, you see. Why is he seen ignoring his partner? Is she now a ghost? Or, indeed, is Tanika a ghost of girlfriends past?
