Taylor Swift Preview Trailer For ‘Babe’ Featuring Sugarland | Music News

Taylor Swift has just unveiled via her Instagram a snippet from her new music video for “Babe“, that sees her collaborating for the first time with country band Sugarland.

The video will premiere Saturday, June 9, and it will star Superman himself, actor Brandon Routh. This signals a return to her roots for Swift, who first rose to fame in the country genre with her self-titled debut album back in 2006.

Sugarland on the other hand, come from a five years hiatus and are getting ready to drop their new album Bigger this Friday, June 8. The lucky collaboration, then, comes in handy for both artists as Swift is fresh off her latest studio project Reputation.

The track, that Swift helped co-write, is an uptempo country ballad about a doomed relationship. Jennifer Nettles carries the whole track with Swift providing the backing vocals for the chorus. The result is a compelling and well blended sound that reminds of a previous Taylor collaboration with another country band, The Civil War, on the song “Safe and Sound“.

Sugarland confirm themselves as a certainty when it comes to delivering a nice, country bop while Taylor Swift, who is now touring for Reputation, can branch out to the part of her fandom who is still loyal to her Nashville roots.
