The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik has finally received the recognition she deserves for her role as Amy Farrah Fowler, for the iconic actress was completely taken aback when she was awarded Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series at the Critics Choice Awards after being nominated three times. When accepting the award, Mayim confessed to the ecstatic audience that “the reason I look so surprised is I’ve actually never won anything”. She continued, paying homage and gratitude to the writers and her fellow cast members:

“Thank you to our amazing writers, thank you to our cast, to Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro and Bill Prady. Thank you. I literally didn’t prepare anything, I didn’t think I’d be up here”. Bialik also proudly dedicated the prize to her father Barry, who sadly passed away in April last year – “My dad died nine and a half months ago, and he was my harshest critic and he never lived to see me win anything, so Abba [which translates to “father” in Hebrew], this is for you. Thank you”.
